Planning a trip? One of the best hacks to pay for a vacation is by using points earned throughout the year just living your everyday life! An easy tip is to pay your regularly occurring monthly bills on a credit card and then pay the balance down each month on time. This way, you get all the points for what you would be spending money on anyway. It can net you several thousand more points each year! It’s simple and mindless, and keeping a revolving line of credit may even boost your credit score. We’ve compared five of the top credit cards for travel with their pros and cons. Depending on how you travel and the frequency of your trips, one of these cards is sure to be the right fit!

Chase Sapphire Preferred

This card has a generous welcome bonus and great points for every day spending. It’s been rated one of the best cards for 2019. Read how to reap those Chase Sapphire Preferred card points to your benefit here!

Wells Fargo Propel American Express

This card has no annual fee and an introductory rate of 0% APR. Most of the rewards are 3% back on your purchase. The main drawback is that American Express isn’t accepted everywhere, especially internationally. Bank of America Travel Rewards

This card is straightforward: you earn 1.5 points per dollar spent on all purchases. There is no annual fee, an initial period of 0% APR, and since it’s a Visa card it’s widely accepted. The only con is that it’s a flat rate card so there aren’t any bonuses for travel purchases. See details for the Bank of American Travel Rewards card here.

Discover It Miles

The commercial for this card is so cute. One person calling themselves, living their best travel life? What’s not to love! It’s a rare travel card that lets you redeem your miles for cash with no loss in value. This claim is rare and why it’s made this list. At 0% APR, their sign-up offer is amazing: They will match all the miles you’ve earned at the end of your first year of travel. The card offers to monitor your social security number across thousands of Dark Web sites, and will give your free FICO credit score. With so many obvious incentives, the very painful negative to this card is that Discover is not accepted all over the world. Read more about the positives for the Discover It card here.

Capital One Venture One Rewards

No annual fee  and no foreign transaction fees, and offering an introductory rate of 0% APR for the first 12 months. No blackout dates, miles don’t expire for the life of the account, and no foreign transaction rates.  Earn 1.25 miles for every purchase, every day. The rewards rate is a tad lower than competitors because they have a promotion to use the card in conjunction with hotels.com which would then make up for that difference. Read more on their terms here.
