Everyone wants to see the world. There are only a few hang ups. You need time and you need money. But what if you could travel around the world and get paid for it? Here are a few jobs that allow you to travel while getting paid.

Flight attendant

Flight attendants primary goal is to ensure the safety and comfort of their passengers. But with that responsibility come a lot of perks. A flexible schedule is one of the main draws to becoming a flight attendant. Another major benefit is that when they land in their destination, the airline pays for their hotel stay and often times gives a meal voucher. Depending on seniority, they get to choose which flights they work too, so you essentially get to pick where you’d like to visit for that work shift.

Cruise Ship

Cruise Ship

There are so many different job available on a cruise ship. To name a few you can be a chef, personal trainer, cosmetologist, massage therapist, entertainer, or even just a regular crew member. What an amazing and unique career to have. You get to travel the world by sea, while getting paid. If you are under contract of the cruise line, your room and board are free or included in your wages. Working on a popular vacation vessel isn’t always a vacation though. The crew members take time off in hours rather than in days. They work almost every day of their contract. They do however, get to get off the ship when it stops at the ports to go and do a little exploring.

Teaching English Abroad

Most other foreign countries learn their native language and then another. Often times English is one of the next languages they learn because it is the universal language. Some countries need people to come and teach English because the adults don’t know it yet. Most of the time if you are teaching English abroad you are responsible for your own room and board. Something else to note is that depending on where you go, there may be a time limit as to how long you can stay. Some countries only want you there for two years max. Others, as long as you have an up to date visa, you can stay as long as you’d like. You just have to be sure to do your research.

Tour Guide

Local Tour Guide

If you are a pro traveler or just want to stay abroad for a little while, consider becoming a local tour guide. You get to take tourists out and show them the cool spots of that area along with giving them a little history. Pairing up with an agency is a smart thing to do as they will help book your tours.

Au Pair

Au Pair is a French word and is a great job for someone wanting to go abroad for a year or two. An Au Pair is similar to a live in nanny. They take care of the children and keep the house in order in exchange for room and board from the host family. This typically is a yearlong exchange and the Au Pair is allowed to attend school while there if desired.
