When budgeting for a vacation, it is sometimes hard to calculate the overall cost. You have to factor in the amount for the hotel, airfare or gas, food, and your activities that you’ll be doing on the trip. Nothing gives you more bang for your buck than an all-inclusive vacation. The two main options for all-inclusive vacations are resorts or cruises. The biggest advantages about the two are that your food, rooms, and a lot of the actives come included in the price. Here are all the details you need to know before you book your next trip.

Vacation

Resorts

All-inclusive resorts are a great way to escape your daily routine. While most resorts are tropical there are 3 “types” of resorts you can book. The first one being a kid friendly resort. These types of resorts have actives either on or near the resort you’re staying on and provide a safe environment for good old fashioned family fun. They don’t typically have daycare for the smaller children like cruise ships often have so be sure to take that into consideration. The second type of resort is the relaxing get away type. This is the best option for the exhausted couple that hasn’t had a vacation for years or the newlyweds off to their honeymoon. The tranquil beaches help you to unwind and relax. The third type of resort you can choose is the party type resort. These resorts don’t allow children most of the time and are really popular with the younger crowd. The busiest times for them are your typical spring and summer break. The great thing about choosing a resort is that the price varies by the season. They typically have a high or low season meaning the price is higher or lower during that time of year, the low season often times means it is during their rainy season so the price is a bit cheaper. Depending on the location, you can be on the tropical beach of your dreams in the dead of winter!

Cruise

Cruises

The great think about cruises is that you aren’t limited to somewhere tropical. Of course if you want to snooze in the sand you can but you can also go to some other amazing places like Europe, Russia, China, Egypt, or Africa. Often times these types of places cruise on rivers so they can be shorter in length than a cruise that sails on the ocean. That’s one of the benefits of going on a cruise is that you can go for 3 days or 3 months. Most cruise lines will have you bring a valid passport even if you aren’t planning on getting off the ship at one of the ports, just to be safe. The different cruise lines offer different experiences. If you are there to relax you can choose Holland America, Viking, or Celebrity cruises. If you have children maybe try Carnival or Disney.

Something to note is that for both trip options, airfare is not included most of the time. So getting to your destination is the only thing you have to take care of. Once you’re there you don’t have to worry about a thing.
