Traveling is great but what could make it even better? Bringing your best fur friend of course! A vacation just isn’t complete without your trusty pet at your side (or in the bed next to you). We are happy to report that more hotel chains are making it easier (and less expensive) to bring along your four-legged friend. The most pet friendly hotels are even extending the invitation to other animals, including cats, birds, and reptiles. You can cancel the pet sitter, pack the treats and toys, and hit the road.

Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts

One of the most respected and luxury filled names in the United States is the Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, and lucky for you they are opening their big luxury doors up to small dogs and cats.  Typically, their pet policy dictates that pets cannot weigh more than 15 to 25 pounds. However, if your pet fits their policies then bring them and let them enjoy all the amenities. Some of the in-room amenities like beds, water bowls, and piddle pads, as well as concierges are at the pet-friendly locations.

Marriott

Marriott now offers more than 1,500 dog-friendly locations across the United States. The nationally recognized brand has more than ten different brands to pick from (Autograph Collection, Renaissance Hotels, Delta Hotels and Resorts, Gaylord Hotels, Courtyard, Residence Inn, SpringHill Suites, Fairfield Inn & Suites, TownePlace Suites, and more). You will want to check directly with the individual property to find out the pet policies and fees. Each hotel offers a range of amenities focused on accommodating pet owners and their pets.

Dog in Hotel Bed

Ritz-Carlton

There are many Ritz-Carlton properties that are dog-friendly, but size requirements, fees, and amenities vary. A good example is the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel (Dana Point, CA), they offer a dog-friendly menu and only charge a $50 per night boarding fee. Animals must be leashed or held in arms in all common areas at all times. However, pets are not allowed in the hotel’s restaurants, bars, fitness centers, spas, or pool areas. Then you have the Ritz-Carlton, Washington D.C., they even provide plush dog beds, dog bowls, and healthy, all-natural dog treats and charge a $125 non-refundable dog cleaning fee per stay in addition to a $50 nightly dog boarding fee. Lastly, dogs must weigh 40 pounds or less.

Red Roof Inn

Red Roof Inn is 100% a friend to pets. The hotel chain has 360 pet-friendly properties (only a handful of Red Roof Inns don’t accept pets, and that is due to city ordinances). The best part of this chain’s policy is that they are among the few chains that simply don’t charge a nightly fee or even a deposit for pet guests. You will not find fancy pet concierges or pet room service, but you will find a happy and welcoming community of pet lovers.

No matter where you travel to, we are confident you will be able to find a hotel that will accommodate your furry friend. Happy travels!
