The summer heat is here and there’s no better way than to cool off than at a fun water park. They usually have the normal slides and lazy rivers, but these unique spaces offer way more than your standard water park. Take a look at the world’s coolest water parks and cool off at the same time.
Happy Magic, The Water Cube
Beijing’s amazing and beautiful water park, Happy Magic, is the most visited tourist attraction next to the Great Wall of China. It was the former site of the summer Olympics in 2008 and is now the largest water park in all of Asia. It has human water rockets that transport people across the park. It doesn’t hurt that the brightly colored tubes and pools also happen to be a feast for the eyes to take in while you splash your cares away.
Splashin’ Safari and Holiday World
Home of the world’s largest waterslide – 1,763 feet long called ‘the Mammoth,’ this Indiana water park has it all. Featuring a six-person raft, you and your five closest friends can take a journey down this ride that uses hydromagnetic technology for some extra speed where it matters most. Splashin’ Safari also has the world’s tallest water ride called ‘Pilgrim’s Plunge.’ It is 13 stories tall and features a 45-degree angle drop.
Tropical Islands Resort
Take a trip over to Europe and you’ll find this beautiful resort outside of Berlin, Germany. It is a water park and resort fit for adults inside a Biodome and is Europe’s largest tropical spa and sauna complex. Its housing is an old airship blimp hangar built in the 1930’s. It has sandy beaches made with real sand and beautiful crystal blue water to wade in. If that wasn’t enough, it has a whole section of the resort that features the ‘art of the sauna.’ This resort is open year-round and has artificial sunlight and even plays sunsets on screens mimicking the end of the day. For a few lucky guests, you can opt to spend the night on the tropical beaches in a tent. One ticket to Berlin, please.
Volcano Bay – Universal Orlando
Located right in the heart of theme park magic, Universal’s water park is located in the shadow of an ‘active volcano.’ Beautiful, lush tropical gardens transport you far away. It features a queue system called “TapuTapu,’ where you wear a wristband that holds your place in line for you. You can take in other areas of the resort while your wristband does the waiting. You’ll be notified of when to return to the ride and you’re good to go. Additionally, the food is spectacular and cabana rentals will put you right in the relaxing state of mind.
Travel around the world and cool off at the same time with some of the most unique and coolest water parks. You’ll keep your cool, have some fun, and never want to leave these oasis holidays away from home. Happy Splashing!
